Komo Matcha Ujihikari Ceremonial Matcha (30g / 100g)
Ujihikari, meaning "The Light of Uji", is one of Japan’s most prestigious and rare tea cultivars, cherished for its rich umami depth, smooth texture, and limited cultivation. With its striking emerald hue and naturally sweet aroma, this exceptional matcha offers a refined balance of umami and gentle bitterness, leaving a lingering, velvety finish on the palate.
During our first tasting, we were amazed by the remarkable complexity of its flavour. From our own notes: "Smoky smell and taste, pleasant chocolaty bitterness that turns into smooth astringency. Finished off with a mellow, malty, slightly vegetal taste and mouth feel. Very enjoyable".
Because of its more noticeable bitterness — often compared to the intensity of 99% dark chocolate — Ujihikari is best suited for seasoned or adventurous matcha drinkers seeking a bolder experience. We recommend starting with the suggested ratio to appreciate its exquisite depth.
